Our second day in Taiwan was spend in Taichung, the area where Spencer spent a good chunk of his mission. We crammed all of our stuff ("our" meaning our family and our Flagship friends) in the van and drove down early, and we even ended up staying at the same hotel. And then we thought, what the heck? We might as well just spend the rest of the day together. We ended up eating at an all-you-can-eat barbecue place that Spencer frequented as a missionary, visiting "the big gold buddha" (a must on Krystal's list of things to do), and walking around the mission office, the church next door, and the nearby street where all new missionaries have to "Dan Jones" on their first day (they stand on a box and preach to the crowd, it's supposed to help the new missionaries get out of their comfort zones).

We're in it together :) |
We ended the day with a night market. We didn't really buy anything, but it was fun to wander and experience the night life.
I loved walking around with Spencer and enjoying the area where he spent such an important period of his life. He was so excited to show me everything, and I love him for it. Hopefully some day we can go back again, but for now we are just extremely grateful for the opportunity to go so early in our marriage. Thank you, Taichung, for helping shape the amazing man I am lucky to call husband.
