I'm On A Boat

I love when Spencer has days off. I love having him with me all day, even if we don't do anything. And I especially love when he has days off and we go do fun things.

The guys had a couple days off of work for the Tomb Sweeping holiday a few weeks ago so we decided to take advantage of the warm weather and get outside. The first day we went to Xuanwu Lake and the next day we went to the Confucious Temple. I didn't take my camera to the temple (it was a little drizzly that day) but here are pictures of the day at the lake. We were going to picnic in the park somewhere, but there were so many people that we decided to rent a boat and picnic on the water instead. Enjoy.

We saw...Mickey Mouse?

And Garfield

And  little boy wearing a Minnie Mouse hat...

This picture does not adequately show the
RIDICULOUS amount of people at the park

O Captain, my Captain ;)

After lunch things got silly. But this little one started it.

And did you know that bubbles BOUNCE on water?!

Apparently the silliness didn't end when we got off the boat...

Easters

So our internet has been ridiculously slow and spotty for the last week (which is driving me crazy!) so hopefully I'll actually be able to post this...

I've always loved Easter. It's not like my love for Christmas (which knows no bounds) but I love the time of year, I love the feeling of rebirth and new life, I love the warm weather creeping in, and I love having another opportunity to reflect on the life of my Savior.

Easter came at the perfect time of year in Nanjing. Some locals say that spring is the best time of year here, but it is very short. Other locals say that Nanjing goes from winter to summer, no spring in between. And I'm beginning to see that they might be right. However, the weekend of Easter was warm and beautiful, and how better to take advantage of such gorgeous weather than to have a picnic!

Spring has sprung in Nanjing!

We went to an AMAZING park and put together an egg hunt for the kids in our branch and then the guys and some of the more adventurous girls had a "Bunny Bowl" (like a Turkey Bowl).

The hunt is on.

Beautiful day for a picnic!

My man, the quarterback

Took a few shots of this beautiful girl
A perfect day to be outside. And the next day we celebrated a perfect Easter.

Shanghai-ed

Two weeks ago was district conference for our church (where all the members from the greater area meet together) which meant a trip to Shanghai for us. District conference included a leadership meeting and adult session on Saturday and then the Priesthood (males from age 12 and up) session and general session on Sunday. Spencer and I decided to go up on Friday night instead of Saturday morning so we could use the extra time to sightsee instead of spending all morning on the train. Our awesome friends Erick and Anneke (another Flagship couple) are doing their internship there so we were even lucky enough to have a place to stay for free!

So because I'm feeling lazy, here is our weekend in pictures. I didn't take very many while we were walking around Shanghai, but it was such a beautiful day and I just wanted to enjoy it.
